Hyatt Hill Country Sunday House

Hyatt Hill Country Sunday House

While we were at the Hyatt Hill Country (San Antonio) this past week, I stumbled across their Sunday House.

It’s essentially an entire house that you can rent on the hotel property.

You get the seclusion you desire with all of the amenities of a traditional resort hotel (room service, pools, spa, and what have you…).

I even managed to visit with a nice couple that was staying there with their daughter.

They told me their daughter was a doctor and that, due to COVID concerns going to and from work, she was not allowed to stay in a traditional hotel.

They even mentioned that you get a complimentary golf cart when you rent the place!

It is not listed on their website, but is available by phone reservation only.

When you call, tell Hyatt I sent you!

Heck, maybe I’ll get to stay there one day…

If I do, you can bet I’ll be sure to blog about it right here.

The sign says:

Sunday Houses became popular in the late 1800’s among farmers who lived in areas too remote to allow a quick trip to town. Families would leave their farms Saturday morning to journey into various HillCountry towns to take care of shopping or other business. They would stay overnight in their Sunday House and the next morning they attended church and then returned home to the farm in the late afternoon.

Our modern-day Sunday House holds the same tradition. A place where families can leave their day-to-day work behind and enjoy a respite.
