My Blog’s Manifesto

Hi, I’m Sterling, and this is my blogging manifesto.

I’m a reader and writer.

So this blog is about practicing my writing in public.

And sharing smart ideas I find in books.

The idea is that with enough practice I might actually get better at writing and sharing.

And that over time, as I improve and more people notice, I might build a successful platform.

Maybe a book deal comes, advertising revenue starts to catch on, or I eventually get a huge corporate sponsor.

Maybe all three.

This would all be fantastic.

But none of this is what drives me.

What drives me is that in addition to the memories, I want to leave something behind.

I want my children to be able to point to something lasting and say:

“My dad built that.”

Maybe my grandchildren too.

I want to leave a positive and encouraging mark on the world through both my actions and my writing.

I want to bear fruit with patience. I want to live for Christ.

This website is about legacy.

I hope you will join me for some of the ride.
