This story about “the one that I feed” harkens back to another book by Andy Daniels, The Noticer.
For what you focus upon will increase.
If you dwell on anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, and ego – you will get more of all of them.
And if you dwell on forgiveness and love – well – guess what you get more of?
There is a story an old Indian man tells his grandson about a fight going on inside between two wolves. One wolf was evil and full of anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, and ego. And the other wolf was a good wolf, full of forgiveness. The grandson asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old man simply replied, “The one I feed.”
