[This is part of the series: A List of Things I Remember About Living In Saudi Arabia.]
Living in Saudi, I remember the jet lag.
I felt sick from it I was so tired.
I remember it the first time we went to Saudi Arabia, and every other time we went back and forth after that.
If you have never traveled much, jet lag is an actual thing. It can be brutal.
And it gets worse the more time zones that you cross.
You can’t keep your eyes open at 2:00 in the afternoon, and suddenly wake up ready to go for the day at 3:00 in the morning.
I remember it taking about a full week to get acclimated to the time difference.
But that was decades before I had children and truly found out what having your internal clock upside down can feel like.
With some melatonin and coffee, I bet I could get over it today in about 48 hours.
Who knows.
