I do love that writing allows you the gift of self-examination.
The writing life allows you time, you see.
Time to reflect and think.
Time to go back for a second cup of coffee, take a walk, write a paragraph and then delete it, and time to spend all afternoon between a book and a notepad.
I want to be one of the few that looks more closely at things – before this whole thing streaks by.
“One of the gifts of being a writer is that it gives you an excuse to do things, to go places and explore. Another is that writing motivates you to look closely at life, at life as it lurches by and tramps around.”
