And this list looks less like parenting instructions and more like the best weekend ever.
I mean, from the perspective of both parent and child, there are probably few things as reassuring as a strong embrace.
Making your children feel safe and loved is probably half the battle of parenting.
Girls from birth to age five will tug on your pant leg to be held and then run from you as fast as their toddling legs will take them. They will wear themselves out and come back to you. These girls need affection. As they grow older, they won’t need it (or at least they won’t act like they need it) quite as much. But they still do. They need you to hold them, snuggle them, and play with them in ways that involve touch. Touch helps Discovery-age girls know that they are safe and loved.
