As much as others take to literature, some can find music as nourishing as breath and food.
You instinctively know this if you have ever been brought to tears by a song.
It’s amazing how much we can be touched by the right music at the right time.
- Music can teach children the alphabet.
- It can heal our hearts.
- Remind us of the past.
- Show us beauty.
- Teach us about love.
- And it can even lead us back to God.
Eventually, a few months after I started coming, I took a seat in one of the folding chairs, off by myself. Then the singing enveloped me. It was furry and resonant, coming from everyone’s very heart. There was no sense of performance or judgment, only that the music was breath and food.
