Changing Tastes And The Changing Years

I wish sometimes that the years did not bring changing tastes.

Changing taste from actual preferences is not what I mean here.

I mean, changing taste from the aloofness of age.

How unfortunate we refuse to be entertained in the same simple ways that we use to.

I want to be wowed by joining a club and having coffee in the rain.

By looking out the window and daydreaming about the possibilities for an hour or two, without reaching for my phone.

Or maybe thrilled about a simple picnic on the living room floor.

Let’s never lose the wonder of it all.

As you grow up you become too tasteful to enjoy things that once filled you with pleasure.
