Do not discount the benefit of being the last person.
The last person on the field.
In reality, this is how I approach my blogging.
Of course, part of my strategy is all of the usual things.
- Create content.
- Think about the headline.
- Don’t ignore SEO.
The overlooked part of my plan, however, is to simply do it longer than others are willing to do.
With each additional day I execute, I see that as one more day than someone else quit.
I mean, how many blogged for a year and then quit?
Maybe it was two years before they gave up. Or three, or four.
See with each day, I out marathon someone else.
And it’s two-fold.
With each day of practice, I will (hopefully) improve.
He would say his favorite chess player was José Raúl Capablanca, and remind himself of the man’s famous dictum: To begin you must study the end. You don’t want to be the first to act, you want to be the last man standing.
