In the context of the workplace especially, good-grief, hiding truth can be such poison.
In this regard, I am one of those that would probably cut my face off to spite my nose though.
I think that I said so much at a job interview once:
“I’d rather get fired for doing the right thing than promoted for doing the wrong thing?”
Boy does that smack of an immature self-righteousness.
Anyone who ever says that to me at an interview though is going to get my quick retort:
“On what basis do you define something and ‘right’ and ‘wrong?'”
Let’s not make it so easy for bad behavior to take root.
When people believe they can hide the truth, many of the incentives inhibiting bad behavior
fall apart.
