Become A Professional Writer

[This is part of the series: 20 Writing Tips From John Erickson]

The best way to become a writer is to keep a day job until you can support yourself.

You don’t just jump and hope. You talk small steps and build something of value.

But this is true with any side hustle, right?

I mean, it’s going to take you 10 – 15 years, no matter what you do.

So decide what kind of life you want to live – and do the work.

Easier said than done – I know, I know.

19. If you want to become a professional writer, have a skill that will support you.

-John Erickson, Story Craft (Amazon)
