
Ok, I am all for the Yoast SEO plugin.
The SEO tab is fantstic.
It’s simple and easy to use – even if you are not worried too much about SEO.
But I think we should take the “readability” tab with a grain of salt.
It stood out to me the other day when I was posting about the Rudyard Kipling poem, If.
Three readability errors popped up!
Sentences starting with the same word:

No use of transitions:

And using passive voice:

I get that this tool is not made for poetry.
It’s made for online writing.
But still.
If Rudyard Kipling is unreadable – the rest of us don’t stand a chance.
