How Much Effect Would That Have?

How Much Effect Would That Have?

“How much effect would that have on the world?”

I can’t imagine having the foresight and wherewithal to ask this kind of question about my career out of the gate.

Maybe we all should? 🤷‍♂️

Most of us are young and stupid and – frankly – just trying to survive at that age…

I find it crazy that we make 18-year-olds pick a degree/career when their brains aren’t even finished developing.

I simply remember trying to pick something I was interested in and thought I could find a job with.

It all worked out ok I suppose.

But maybe more of us should be trying to make a difference – rather than just hold on.

He’d been obsessed with video games since his childhood and had held a gaming internship. But he came to see them as not quite grand enough a pursuit. “I really like computer games, but then if I made really great computer games, how much effect would that have on the world,” he said. “It wouldn’t have a big effect. Even though I have an intrinsic love of video games, I couldn’t bring myself to do that as a career.”
