Talent might not be rare.
Some people might have a hard time starting with that though.
But follow me now: Raw talent is not that unusual.
- Plenty of people can sing.
- Many can write.
- And smart students are a dime-a-dozen.
There are, however, few singers that are willing to go to singing lessons twice a week for 20 years and then sing publicly for 10 years before finding any career traction.
You might be a good writer too. But are you willing to do it for decades without ever finding success?
Lastly, how many “smart” students did you know in high school that made it through graduate school?
What is rare? Grit is.
“What is rare is not raw talent, skill, or even confidence, but humility, diligence, and self-awareness.”
