If you are overwhelmed, try to find solace in the present moment.
The benefit here is that it can take you out of both the regret of the past and the anxiety of the future.
Playing tea with your daughter can help. At least it does for me.
I also like the idea of long walks.
And at the end of an exhausting day – if I am being honest – a good story (book or movie) can save the day too.
And then keep going.
You’ll find the method that works best for you, but there are many things that can pull you into the present moment: Strenuous exercise. Unplugging. A walk in the park. Meditation. Getting a dog—they’re a constant reminder of how pleasant the present is.
