I had no idea when I first read this passage that Tom Hanks was into typewriters.
Hmmm.
He calls typewriters his “guilty pleasure.”
In fact, Hanks interest in typewriters eventually led him to an interest in writing.
To top it all off: Typewriters are even a centerpiece for his book of short stories Uncommon Type (Amazon).
Who knew?
I was eventually located, photographed, and questioned. And Sara Ossana eventually found me as well. In Los Angeles a mistake of that nature, if it happens to get your partner’s picture on the front page of the Times, cannot be an entirely bad thing. Another by-product of it is that it turned Tom Hanks into a collector of manual typewriters. I hear that he has more than one hundred now.
