
The Pursuit, on Netflix, is a documentary that should not be overlooked.
Told by Arthur Brooks, it is an examination of what types of economies make people better off.
As a trained economist myself, this story resonated with me greatly.
The choice is where you want to be along the spectrum between:
(1) voluntary-exchange
(2) decree by third-party.
I lean towards freedom from coercion.
See, the story of humanity is largely a sad one, filled with pain and poverty and sickness.
Where people have been given freedom – held together by morals, property-rights, and the rule of law – is where this sadness had been avoided.
This is a beautiful film.
