Here is the chain of redemptive love:
See, in order to to be redeemed, someone has to redeem you.
For someone to redeem you, you need something to be redeemed from.
In order to need redeeming, you need to have a choice.
And if you have a choice, there exists the possibility of love.
This chain of reasoning is similar to examining the problem of evil.
Where there is the possibility of love, there has to be the reality of freedom. Where there is the reality of freedom, there has to be the possibility of pain. Where there is the reality of pain, there is the need for a Savior. Where there is a Savior, there is the possibility of redemption.
