Books are great and all, but why read in the first place?
I mean, of course there is the utility of it: You can learn and grow.
For as I have already pointed out how, books can be great mentors.
But, and I agree here completely – while there are a million other reasons to read – you should read for the simple enjoyment it ushers with it.
Maybe , for once, try reading for nothing other than the idle pleasure of it.
Just start.
It can be with a blog post, a magazine article, a novel, or maybe a memoir.
Don’t be intimidated by what others think you should read,
Explore everything a little bit. Poke around. And find something that makes you want to keep turning the page.
If you are like me, all it took was a pizza program and a parent that loved reading too.
Forget for a moment how books should be read: Why should they be read? The first reason—the first sequentially in the story that follows but also the first in order of importance—is that reading books can be intensely pleasurable. Reading is one of the great human delights.
