Accomplished goals are the sweetest kind.
Did you know that? It makes sense.
Don’t get me wrong, no one is going to turn down a million dollars.
But being handed a million feels nothing like earning it yourself through blood and sweat and time.
The former can make some people feel guilty, but the later always brings with it self-worth.
Remember this in the context of raising children too.
We should be letting our kids struggle with the inconsequential while they are still at home, for how else should they safely learn what’s on the other side of seemingly impossible feats?
One reason that challenge brings happiness is that it allows you to expand your self-definition. You become larger. Suddenly you can do yoga or make homemade beer or speak a decent amount of Spanish.
