I have heard The Days Are Long But The Years Are Short so many times now it feels like a cliche.
But it is devastatingly true.
I stumbled across this phrase again reading and jotted it down for further reflection.
Truth be told, I have found this proverb to be truer the older I have gotten.
It is probably most visible in children.
The days and nights can feel like a never-ending feat of sleep-deprived endurance. And in the same breath, I cannot wrap my head around the fact that a sweet baby becomes a kindergartener in a blink.
Steal time from this life where you can – if you ask me.
Because it will all be over in a blink, we are a puff of warm breath indeed.
The days are long, but the years are short.
