A broken, unhappy person is a person without purpose.
We know this because there are broken and miserable billionaires, just as there are happy and fulfilled paupers.
Let us not get caught here too. Let’s not let our worth come from external sources outside of our control.
As I have said, the key here is purpose.
Because accomplishment without meaning in nothing. Anything without meaning is nothing.
Understand: You can only find purpose in a few things.
I knew there was always more to accomplish. I had more goals in my life. But this dread I was feeling came from the fact that nothing had really changed. I still felt just as broken as when I started. I was still deeply unhappy. Shouldn’t this stuff be happening on some kind of sliding scale? The more I fixed myself, the happier I should get. The more goals I accomplished, the more whole I would feel. I didn’t mind putting in more years and more work, but here I was, sitting on top of the mountain I had fought to climb, and I was the same broken, unhappy person.
