I think that this little minimum wage cartoon points to the heart of the issue.
See, the long and short of minimum wage laws are two fold.
1. A third party is restricting voluntary exchange.
2. Price floors cause surpluses.
One could, of course, argue why either of these are “good” or “bad.”
But there is no way around these two points.
