The most useless IT job is that of a Product Owner / Business Analyst.
(I can say that because I was one for nearly a decade.)
I’m kidding!
It’s not useless.
I explain it like this:
Management, customers, and internal users all want constant changes made to existing software, right? Right. For example, a company might get 50 software change requests in a day. If the firm only has the resources to make 10 changes per day, how are these changes prioritized? How do they decide what to work on? That’s what a business analyst and a product owner does.
I get it though – it is a niche thing – if you have never done Scrum/Agile this will elude you.
This is part 2 of The Scrum Process At Work. π
