I am not sure why I found this video The Last Punchcutter so cathartic, but I did.

If you don’t know, punchcutting is the first step in making metal type – the negative space for typewriters, etc.

(These days we have 3-D printers – fugetaboutit.)

This skill is an old and masterful act of patience and practice.

We need more things like this.
