If you feel run-down, one of these is most likely the issue.
1. Schedule
2. Imagination
3. Sleep
4. Diet
5. Exercise
I’m here to tell you that the primary culprit in your bad moods is a deficit in one of the big five: flexible schedule, imagination, sleep, diet, and exercise.
-Scott Adams, How To Fail At Almost Everything And Still Win Big
Of course, I might at a 6th one.
Quit drinking and smoking.
They all make sense though.
Have a schedule without burdensome restrictions, imagine and hope for a bright future, get eight hours of sleep, eat healthy, and be active – who wouldn’t feel good with a lifestyle like that?
Adams continues:
For starters, pay attention to the attitudes of people who have recently exercised. You’ll discover they are almost always happy and upbeat. Now also look at the attitudes of people who have recently eaten versus the people who are hungry. You’ll see a big difference. Tired people are grumpy, rested people are less so. Exercise, food, and sleep should be your first buttons to push if you’re trying to elevate your attitude and raise your energy.
