Silence springs where space is made.
As this passage eludes, many people seem to struggle with silence though.
You are stuck with yourself, with your thoughts, and your decisions.
I can see how this could be uncomfortable for some.
But I am an only child.
And for large parts of my life, silence was the norm.
For long seasons, the day was filled with nothing but an easy chair and a good book.
Maybe that’s why reading has such an appeal.
Reading and silence go hand in hand, after all
Silence is tough at first, like an infant is tough. I think it springs from the same place in the universe where space is made, and breath, and appreciation.
