Welp, this marks 5000 posts.

Whoop! Whoop!

I know, I know: Who cares, right?

I care!

Even if this is still a small little blog that only a few of my friends read (it’s not) – I want to still mark my progress.

Honestly, the progress is more systematic and incrementally predictive than you would think.

Traffic doubles – depending on how many blog posts I publish – roughly every year.

Just one more flag planted on the way up…

And one more year that I didn’t quit:

Ok, I am all for the Yoast SEO plugin.

The SEO tab is fantstic.

It’s simple and easy to use – even if you are not worried too much about SEO.

But I think we should take the “readability” tab with a grain of salt.

It stood out to me the other day when I was posting about the Rudyard Kipling poem, If.

Three readability errors popped up!

Sentences starting with the same word:

No use of transitions:

And using passive voice:

I get that this tool is not made for poetry.

It’s made for online writing.

But still.

If Rudyard Kipling is unreadable – the rest of us don’t stand a chance.
