Do you know who you are?
Well here is the good news.
You get to decide who that is.
This point seems obvious and, of course, it is.
But every day, with every action, you are becoming something.
If you are grumpy and bitter and mean – over time – people will see you as a grumpy, bitter, and mean person.
If you are joyful and kind and loving – over time – people will see you as a joyful, kind, and loving person.
When you’re gone – that’s how you will be remembered too.
This echos Steven Pressfield on becoming a writer.
You become a writer the same way you become anything, by daily action.
Eventually, you have to decide who you are. You have to choose your role and own that identity. We don’t fake it till we make it. We believe it till we become it.
