Simply Asking?

Simply Asking?

[This is part of the series: 31 Persuasion Tips That I Learned From Scott Adams]

Can making a sale be as easy as simply asking?

Probably not – but maybe.

I just think of it as another tool in your persuasion belt.

I mean, while it is probably not everything, a direct ask can be persuasive.

Set the table first and make every little piece work together.

And at the very end of the discussion, ask for what you want.

Give it a shot, kids:

Dad,
Can I show you this video I thought was funny? This dog is so cute.
Anyway, I took out all the trash and finished my homework.
I also washed all the dishes so you don’t have to do it later.
You always emphasize how important relationships are.
And I know I need to work on building lasting ones.
Can I go to Jenny’s house for a while?
And should I take mom’s car, or your’s?

PERSUASION TIP 25: If you are selling, ask your potential customer to buy. Direct requests are persuasive.
-Scott Adams, Win Bigly
