We Should Feel This Way About Our Jobs

We Should Feel This Way About Our Jobs

We should be thankful for our jobs.

Hear me our!

See, there are one of two things at play when you are employed.

First, you are in a job you love. Life is great. You are happy, and things could not be better.

This is what we should shoot for in a job – for this is what we all want (in a job).

Now. The second possibility is that you are in a job that you don't love.

I get that this is not optimal – but look at it a different way.

Think of that salary as the funding mechanism for what you actually want to go do.

Invest. Start a business. Or, simply use the money to enjoy your hobbies and vacations.

It’s perspective.

And understand: Everyone learns by doing.

I learned by doing, there being no one willing to instruct me, and I will always be grateful to Hollywood for. . . well. . . it’s essentially financed my fiction, my rare book business, and, to a huge degree, my adult life.

-Larry McMurtry, Hollywood (Amazon)
