Learning how to accept criticism is not an easy thing.

First, make sure you are not seeking feedback as a need for approval. If you are, the criticism you get will handicap your ability to create.

Those willing to raise a critical voice sometimes even have great intentions. Let’s just be careful who we open our hearts and minds to.

I think Grahl’s advice here is right on: It pays to ignore the vast majority of criticism.

Ignore 99.9% of criticism that comes your way. My rule: I only accept criticism from people I know care about me. Ignore online criticism. Ignore anonymous criticism. Ignore emails that random people send you. Ignore book reviews. Instead, focus on the handful of people who love you and are willing to tell you the truth. Seek out criticism from them and trust them implicitly.
