Sprezzatura is the ability to work, to feel like you are working, and look like you are working, in a nonchalant way.
I mean, I am all for effort – but who wants to live a life of strenuous striving?
Striving for what?
I think we should ask: What are we killing ourselves over in the first place, and is it worth the cost?
Maybe take a deep breath and have a long breakfast this morning. You can have a long lunch too.
Let’s step back and reevaluate how we work – and why.
Only in recent history has working hard signaled pride rather than shame for lack of talent, finesse, and, mostly, sprezzatura.
