Pre-existing condition insurance is a bit of an oxymoron.

Now I know everything around health insurance has become all political, but it should not be this way.

I mean, simply go to Wikipedia and look up the definition of insurability.

There are 7 requirements of insurability. And pre-existing conditions violate at least three of them.

Simply put, health insurance with a pre-existing condition, is more like a transfer payment than it is insurance.

This is all a misunderstanding between economic goods and non-economic goods.

I have said it before: Unfortunately, healthcare is an economic good.

One could reasonably disagree about the best way to ration healthcare – but no one usually wants to talk about that.
