Maybe I am not a big fan of Vegas because
it is the most extreme and allegorical of American settlements.
I feel like one of the themes of my life, for better or worse, is the Biblical idea of bearing fruit with patience.
So the hotbed of instant gratification (superficial gratification) has little appeal to me.
Celine Dion was amazing to see though.
I’m just saying.
For more on mobsters see, Tough Jews.
Las Vegas is the most extreme and allegorical of American settlements, bizarre and beautiful in its venality and in its devotion to immediate gratification, a place the tone of which is set by mobsters and call girls and ladies’ room attendants with amyl nitrite poppers in their uniform pockets.
