This idea about small moves is another great passage on the power of routine.
I mean, it’s cliche, but routine is cliche for a reason.
It happens to work.
Doing something small every single day can lead to something big.
I will add this though.
While routine seems to help you practice your skill, develop as an artist, and produce, over time, a body of work:
Nobody gets it right all the time and finds success in everything they touch.
Tom Hanks has been in plenty of bad movies, Cormac McCarthy has written a book or two that not many people enjoyed, and Garth Brooks released that one pop album.
Get in the habit of it, and do the work.
Small moves can equal great gains. In fact, when small moves are repeated consistently over time, you’ll one day look up and realize you’ve traveled all the way from where you were to exactly where you always dreamed you’d be.
