For persuasion, your speaking style needs to fit the people you are talking to.
Oh my goodness though, I do not mean to fake an accent or anything like that.Don’t be that politician in a church in South Carolina pretending you have a southern accent.
However.
You know what a politician should be doing? Talking like voters talk.
A politician with a doctorate in law or economics does not need to sound like a politician with a doctorate in law or economics.
Frankly, because these people are usually hard to listen to.
This should make you think.
That dumb politician that uses small words and repeats himself, do you think that’s an accident?
PERSUASION TIP 27: Match the speaking style of your audience. Once they see you as one of their own, it will be easier to lead them.
