More Beautiful Than Silence

More Beautiful Than Silence

“Open your mouth only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than silence.”

So good.

We would all do good to do better with this.

Maybe I am just craving margin at this stage of life…

I've noticed the more someone talks the less they say something important. It reminds me of this quote:

"Open your mouth only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than silence." – Arabic proverb pic.twitter.com/orntFB1Zu2

How To Do Better In An Interview

How To Do Better In An Interview

You might do better in an interview by making the interviewer talk more.

Just hush and listen for once:

When anyone is going to an interview I say, โ€œtry and get the interviewer to talk more than you do. Keep asking them questions.โ€ Because the research shows that the more the interviewer talks, the more favourably he or she views the interviewee.

Similarly, if you are at a dinner party and at a loss of to what to say, turn to your neighbour on your right and say, โ€˜tell meโ€ฆโ€ and ask them some question. And they will think you are wonderful because you have the wisdom to listen to them. And you might actually learn something too.

I have pointed to this talking problem before.

And here’s a short list of questions to get you started at that interview.
