Michael Korda, a prolific writer in his own right, is more famously known as the long-time editor-and-chief at Simon & Schuster.
I have posted about another well know editor here.
But this excerpt made me think about friends. For we often forget what a delight a lifelong friend can be. And how rare deep and lasting friendships become as the years tick by.
Of course, I now have to read this book: Charmed Lives.
Michael and I became friends and remain friends. In his wonderful book Charmed Lives he describes his famous family: Sir Alexander Korda the great film producer was his uncle, as was Zoltan Korda, director of The Four Feathers and many other films. Vincent Korda, his father, was an Oscar-winning set designer, and his mother was a well-known actress.
