The funny thing about possessions is this:

Once you can have anything, you don’t care about much of anything.

Of course, I am not there financially, but I can easily see how this happens.

Because we always want what we can’t have, don’t we?

And then as soon as it is in reach, we shrug it off like a bored child finally holding the coveted toy of another.

The brand obsession with cars, purses, watches, and even homes all strike me as odd on this.

It’s just people buying status – or at least – trying to.

Of course, with age, I care less and less too.

Who cares what kind of car I drive?

One of the more interesting surprises for me when I started making more money than I would ever spend is that it automatically changed my priorities. I could afford any car I wanted, but suddenly I didn’t care so much about my possessions beyond the utility they provided. Once all of my personal needs were met, my thoughts automatically turned to how I could make the world a better place.
