How To Survive The Titanic

How To Survive The Titanic

I guess the only way to survive the Titanic without getting on a lifeboat…is to get on a lifeboat later.

Sad that all the lifeboats were not filled to the brim of their capacity…

Amazing story though.

I mean, can you imagine your grandpa casually dropping into conversations that he lived through the sinking of the Titanic?!

#OnThisDay 1912: The Titanic sank on its maiden voyage, with the loss of more than 1,500 lives.

In 1979, Frank Prentice described how he managed to escape death on the liner, where he was working as an assistant purser. pic.twitter.com/XOWvXPBGVo

Is Death The Worst Thing?

Is Death The Worst Thing?

Is death the worst thing – the “prime evil?”

And survival the best thing?

Pleasure is everything – and pain should be avoided at all costs….

Maybe.

It might be true, if you believe that death is the end – and nothing outside of life matters.

I choose to believe that humans matter – and we matter forever.

Of course, if I were on the other side, that would be a great lie to tell.

They, of course, do tend to regard death as the prime evil and survival as the greatest good. But that is because we have taught them to do so.

–C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
