Oh good-grief, there are plenty of dissatisfying defaults about our world.
Aren’t there?
Unfairness, and hurt, and pain, etc.
I am not speaking philosophically here, for there are many philosophical implications about these issues. This is a practical statement about real people living real lives.
Obviously different things become obvious to each of us, with our disparate backgrounds and educations.
Economic issues stick out to me – and it drives me nuts.
Because for all the political hand-wringing, our macroeconomic issues are self-inflicted.
But don’t get me started on that. I’ll save it for another post.
When we become curious about the dissatisfying defaults in our world, we begin to recognize that most of them have social origins: Rules and systems were created by people. And that awareness gives us the courage to contemplate how we can change them.
