You don’t get a pass.

In fact, nobody is going to give you anything.

Because the truth is – well – nobody cares all that much about your problems.

That’s not true: Your parents and siblings and friends care.

Few others do though.

And the indifferent majority is even less likely to give you something or lend a hand in a significant way.

So get up and make something happen.

Try it, at least.

Thankfully, few issues are immune from action.

You got this.

Just because the conditions aren’t exactly to your liking, or you don’t feel ready yet, doesn’t mean you get a pass. If you want momentum, you’ll have to create it yourself, right now, by getting up and getting started.

A courage to act against our problems is, I think, how progress is most often made against them.

• To make progress writing – you write.
• To get traction on social media – you become active on social media.
• And to live a more active lifestyle – well – you get up and do something.

See, attacking problems gets nearly everything accomplished. While sitting back and waiting for problems to solve themselves, gets almost nothing done.

It’s all very logical when it comes down to it.

Remember that action does this.

And that nothing is immune from action.

If I am being honest, some days this is all very easy for me. It feels like I am getting up and trying and doing well.

Other days, it feels like I am just throwing trash at the wall hoping something sticks.

So when you’re frustrated in pursuit of your own goals, don’t sit there and complain that you don’t have what you want or that this obstacle won’t budge. If you haven’t even tried yet, then of course you will still be in the exact same place. You haven’t actually pursued anything. We talk a lot about courage as a society, but we forget that at its most basic level it’s really just taking action – whether that’s approaching someone you’re intimidated by or deciding to finally crack a book on a subject you need to learn. Just as Earhart did, all the greats you admire started by saying, Yes, let’s go. And they usually did it in less desirable circumstances than we’ll ever suffer.
