Neat handwriting is completely overrated. Right?
I mean, first of all, who writes by hand anymore? Learn to type like everyone else.
Don’t get me wrong. I get the utility of it all. You have to learn to write with a pen or pencil or what have you.
But a focus on penmanship and learning cursive is a waste of precious time.
Second, you would do better learning to speak French or Spanish or studying more math.
We get so little time here with each other and what are you wasting away doing?
You are practicing loops at the tops of your letters. (It’s as silly as shoelaces.)
But calligraphy and fine penmanship can be beautiful you say… Well, I say that art, able to withstand the Lindy Effect, should not be forced on us.
And, honestly, I’m so bad with signing receipts these days that I do more of squiggle than a signature – good riddance.
I used to have a handwriting. Now I just have a signature.
