Memorably Persuasive?

Memorably Persuasive?
[This is part of the series: 31 Persuasion Tips That I Learned From Scott Adams]

What does memorably persuasive mean?

I have no idea.

Sometimes I am just grasping for a good title, if you want to know the truth.

But here it is:  If you want to be persuasive, it helps to be memorable.

Of course, part of being memorable is being simple.

This should be obvious.

The simpler something is, the easier it is to remember, after all.

Maybe a good litmus test would be to ask if something is quote worthy?

For lack of an alternative example: Would people want to retweet it?

If you have something both simple and memorable – well – you might be halfway to going viral.

PERSUASION TIP 29: Simplicity makes your ideas easy to understand, easy to remember, and easy to spread. You can be persuasive only when you are also memorable.

The Way Dwelling Increases Importance

The Way Dwelling Increases Importance
[This is part of the series: 31 Persuasion Tips That I Learned From Scott Adams]

Over time, dwelling increases the importance of a topic.

It makes sense, if you think about it.

The more you think about X, the more you will think that X is significant.

At times, I probably think about this blog too much.

Sure enough, the more I do, the more paramount it feels.

And all of this is just in my head.

The lesson is to guard where you let your mind go.

Conversely. there are, of course, ways to influence the importance of something in others.

But you didn’t hear that from me.

PERSUASION TIP 4: The things that you think about the most will irrationally rise in importance in your mind.
