Maybe we need to be applying the experimental method to more things we do?

There are, perhaps, uncommon places for its use.

What if we applied the scientific method to Parenting? Relationships Work? Blogging?

Here, let me try one.

1. Instabooks posts have great engagement on Pinterest.
2. More Instabooks posts will grow my traffic.
3. If I publish one Instabooks post per day for 250 days, I can increase my Pinterest traffic by at least 50%.
4. Let’s do it.
5. I have not finished this experiment yet. But since starting Instabooks posts, Pinterest traffic is up 147% over the same period!
6. Instabooks posts drive great traffic.
7. I am doing that publicly, here.
8. What’s next?

Let’s experiment more.

And remember: Science is not everything.

We had to do all these experiments and then record the results. I wasn’t emotionally connected to any of them. That would be pretty weird. I just dispassionately went through each step of the experimental method. 1. Make observations 2. Form a hypothesis 3. Make a prediction 4. Perform an experiment 5. Analyze the results of the experiment 6. Draw a conclusion 7. Report your results 8. Go back to step 1 What if I started applying this to everything I did? Literally, everything. From my parenting and my writing to my hiring and my work with clients?
