No really, is it just me, or are political ads getting better these days?
Of course, if you don’t know what to look for you might call them cheesy.
But I think there is serious persuasion at work here if you look closer.
(I count at least five or six techniques being used.)
I included one ad from a democrat and one from a republican – for all you spineless folks that can’t take a stand for anything.
I think a false compliment can work simply because adults get praised so infrequently.
There is nothing complicated about it.
I mean, do you think I am more compliant with people I like, and people that I think like me?
Or am I more accommodating to people who are rude and unagreeable?
A compliment often goes further than your assume it will.
Understand: Reciprocity is a Herculean force.
A false compliment can land if the recipient wishes it were true.
