Maybe we’re asking our children too many questions sometimes?
I want to be interested. I want to be engaged and encouraging. I want to know my children.
But there’s a fine line between say too much and saying too little, right?
You don’t want to be detached and aloof – but you don’t want to badger them into divulging their innermost thoughts either.
Good-grief, it all sounds like trying to befriend a cat.
Parenting is hard sometimes.
Understand: All relationships are hard sometimes (but that’s the best part).
Too many questions can be experienced as an invasion of one’s private life. Children will talk about what they want to talk about when they want to talk about it.
